High res units

Post by CombatWombat »

Just reinstalled Myth after half a decade of it collecting dust. Gonna play through TFL+Soulblighter...and maybe wolf age (if I'm feeling stupid)

Has anyone recreated the original units with more frames of animation, more detail, etc? I'm not talking about completely new units, but rather a refinement of the old guys. The landscapes and such still look good, but the units are really lacking.

Even better would be to port the old games to something that allows 3d units...but that would take an army of work.

Iron did some high res units for Frenzy of the Damned (not all the Myth units, of course).

3D units? Personally I prefer the 2D sprites. TFL wouldn't be the same in 3D.

After Frenzy there was murmurs about how an all high-rez release would be cool but I don't think anyone ever started work on it.

Combat Wombat... that name seems vaguely familiar.

Don't forget about the Chimera campaign plugin too. You can play online by registering an account at http://playmyth.net , you don't need the serial number anymore too.

Made by the Hodaka motorcycle company :)

They also made the Dirt Squirt and Super Rat as wel as the Combat Wombat. My brother used to race a Hodaka 100 on flat tracks, not sure which model it was, but it was probably a Super Rat.
