Re: Myth II on Ubuntu 14.04
If I recall correctly, I'm not a dev, the human eye can only interpret up to around 60 fps, any more is just redundant. Generally speaking an FPS cap at 60 works great in myth. That said, I thought vsync was supposed to do something like that automatically, so maybe this is a moot point.

Where do you find all your art? Do you draw it yourself, or do you just have a great go-to place for medieval myth-esque art? It always looks so awesome and mythy.

Re: Where can I find all of the plugin meshes in Loathing?
I'd also recommend walking yourself through a simple mapmaking tutorial, or at least some sections of one (placing units/scenery etc) so that you've got a better grasp on the extreme basics. Then when we/Pyro explains stuff from a mapmaker's point of view you're not tripping on his words. There's a ...

Re: Fear 1.8 crashes when pick Duplicate
I think 10.9 has a 'run as admin' type feature now, like Windows. I forget exactly how, control/right click + command? + option?, which will bring up a drop menu with the option to Open/Run as admin. Which in turn, I think, will fix the permissions from Read only to Read/Write automatically.

Specifically, of the 3 colours in the colors.bmp graphic from left to right; Map Title, pregame text, captions text (this was never used in m2 but works if you want to use it like TFL did)Pyro wrote:One of them is the color of the text for pregames.

Re: .smk video doesn't work
No you set where it plays within the mesh tags in Fear. Under Prologue and Epilogue, you can place movie files. As pyro said though, you probably want to be converting your video file to .mov format rather than .smk Or include both with your plugin download, but make .mov the default, not many peopl...

Re: Model animation problem
Ah. Ok, certainly isn't another model facing opposite. I see what you're after now. You want the gate to open inwards, rather than outwards.
In which case, as others have already said, you need vegas, or someone who can run it to edit your model.

Re: AI netgame teams
Pure speculation, and I have the expectation that the monsters would just get deleted/killed off....... but have you tried spawning the enemy team on team 0, and then charming them to team 1/2/3 after the multi match starts? Might be a way to fool multiplayer's test if a player has dropped out. Not ...

Re: Model animation problem
You're just using the wrong gate dude. Yes, there is a method to doing what you've done with lightwave, but currently it involves two 3rd party apps that only work on MacOS 9. Melekor is coding these functions into oak, but the tool you need is to define walking impassable triangles.... it looks lik...

Re: How many pixels distance can ranged units shoot?
Since nobody has directed you there yet... you'll find the values inside the monster tag. Open the monster tag in question, then in the little window listing it's attacks, double click on the attack in question. A sub window will pop up with a bunch of fields. Max and Min range are two of them.

Re: Interface merge pixels
Aye, as Mel says, make sure the first 2 colours in your colour table are completely unique (that is, those colours don't show up anywhere in the images you want to use for your collection), and then you shouldn't get any interference. You're definitely experiencing transparent pixels. Most common se...

Re: Offering free voice acting to map makers
How many characters can you do? I'm keen to hear the sample as Omi suggested. More to hear the quality of your recording, not the quality of your acting skill or voice. You said you're working from home. That standard might not be quality enough for my project, but I'd be keen to hear a sample to be...

Re: Access to Oak?
Aye, on the old Creation Site mirror that Baak has, you can find the two tutorials Ares wrote, Basic and Intermediate scripting. He had a link up for Advanced scripting, but that tutorial was never written... until A-Red came along and wrote it. I may just be speaking for myself, but I compiled Ares...

Re: ravana m3/m2
This might sound harsh, but I think it's a dose of needed reality. I think if you want this unit in M2 maybe you should start doing some research yourself on how to port/make units. It seems an impossible task until you get your hands dirty and start learning the tricks. Most people here aren't goin...
