Re: Myth II 1.7.2 Public Beta

Hey guys, I tried to run a few coops under DirectX10 with 1.7.2 Windows Modern, they all crashed before they loaded. Hard crash to desktop. Three logs but they're all saying the same thing (it seems) Cheers :) Log 1: 2011-01-23 23:28:09 Myth II Build 368 running under Modern Windows 6.000000 -------...

I know Fear is small peanuts and Loathing is the really tricky and essential part of the mapmaking process. *grumble*
But if you see me on HL or send me a message I'll do my best to help you with tagwork. :)

No dissing the myrks. They have a rich history, sound mean and tear the crap out of everything. As for looks, if I see them in game I either think about the Gate failure postgame (oh, you're stuffed Alric) or how they ripped those warriors to pieces. MG's - exploding skulls.. hrmm. Too confusing to ...

You're right, utter and complete fantasy. But because I'm bored and because I hardly ever post... I'd like to see a departure from the north continent of myths 1 2 and 3. TSG appealed to me for that reason - traces of myth lore in a different setting, maybe a completely different era. Gameplay-wise ...

Plus I doubt you can change the color from purple to blue without some hackin'. Go with the mist.

Maybe myth needs a "frozen" internal mechanism :)

Mazz preparing for this battle was a bit like a student cramming for an exam.. even he didnt have total control over the codex (i think thats a GURPS fact) and was just grabbing stuff that looked good as quickly as possible.

I guess. FORGET THE STORYLINE, FOCUS ON THE FLESH GOLEMS!!! :D

hell, if its just about creating some cool effects, throw balance to the wind.. just a few other things, firstly the conditions rule out standard dorf cocktails! 1.0 dmg isnt much.. is that for blast damages too? 2ndly, there a limit as to just how flashy the effect is; CPU lag-wise and such 3rdly,...

I think checking "Passes through target" flag in the expanding projectile thats not supposed to go through the wall (but deal damage) should allow it to pass through units so that you get a true blast effect, but not let it pass through models.

Oooh, funky idea. It seems to be though that the conditions at the moment wouldn't really guarantee a fair match, or allow heaps of variation. Though this would mean alot more work, why not judge the units to see if they're at a certain cost rating, like 12, and use a set of restrictions to make it...

inventory would definitely be the best option - if you were set on making the effect a special ability you could create an invisible arti infront of you and use a geom filter to give it to the unit but this isnt really viable because there would be delays, you would need a devoted map action to do ...

Ok, status report... Yes ive been using 240 colours ;) It seems to me that the more drastic the colour change for the bitmap, the more noticible the loss of quality. Happily though i managed to take the Homecoming TFL map and 'overcast' it, (and im using this to make an exciting and possibly commit...
