Back in the day, I played the hell out of Myth for more than 3yrs. However, I haven't played it in the last 2yrs at least. But a post on one of the b.net forums about Myth caught my attention and I decided to load it up again and rejoin the Myth community.

So now my question is, what popular 3rd party maps should I download? I don't want to waste my time downloading maps no one plays while at the same time I don't want to miss ones that are played frequently. Feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well if you're into ranked, i suggest you download ww2 recon crazy. Thats what most of these diehard addicted mythers play. Anyway, if you're lookin for pure fun, there is a whole assortment, so you might wanna look at what they play...

Common maps: TFL Multis, WWII: Recon, WWII: Combat and, if u r into coop, The Fallen Levels v2, Mazzarin's Demise IV and sometimes Shadow of the Mountain III.

For more on TFL, see my 'TFL Revolution topic'

Hope I have helped.

If you don't play co-op, then WWII Recon and WWII Combat are the only plug-ins you need.

Keep in mind that ww2 is basically a seperate game from myth. The maps I named are all regular myth multiplayer maps though most people just play the standard maps.

It's a total conversion in the literal sense. Different gameplay, units, tactics, graphics, sounds, maps (most of the time) and even interface if you choose the PlayMyth.net WWII interface. It's like the way the game XIII uses the Unreal engine. ww2 uses the myth engine to run.

There are still opportunities to play regular old Myth team maps on Sunday evenings. Look for the Orleans group on PMnet -- they usually play the better two maps like Caer, Leagues, Lichen, Creep, and many others.
