Swap fir'Bolg in TFL for bowmen?

Hi all!

I come back to Myth II & TFL every couple of years, and every time I'm so impressed at how well these games stand up to the test of time. I continue to be shocked that they haven't been remastered. T2 seems content to just let the IP languish and gather dust.

Anyway, I have a question about the TFL plugin for Myth 2. I've never messed around much with Fear and Loathing, but would it be complicated to replace the fir'Bolg in the TFL campaign with Myth 2 bowmen?

Maybe mine is an unpopular opinion, as I recall numerous occasions in the early 'aughts where people on the Bungie.net II servers compared bowmen unfavorably to fir'Bolg, but I have always preferred bowmen. They seem to shoot better at long range, but more importantly, they don't seem to shoot each other in the head nearly as often as fir'Bolg do.

Anyway, if it's something that I could easily pop into Loathing and do myself, I'd greatly appreciate some brief guidance!

The first option is to use one of the existing myth 2 units for tfl:

Both of those do more than just replace fir bolg though, so if you want to only replace fir bolg then you will have to do it yourself.

Simply replacing fir bolg with bowmen is pretty simple, however it will introduce other complications such as the requiring editing the special bow artifacts on a couple of levels to also be edited. There may also be other complications related to scripting, but I am not sure.

So if you do want only for bolg to be changed, it might actually be easier to instead just edit fir bolg to shoot more like bowmen.
