"sound effect lag"?

Post by The Elfoid »

OK, it's a weird problem this one. I hung on for the new patch in the hope maybe Vista just hates Myth and this would fix it.

I get lag on sound effects. In game sounds are FINE. So are units in co-op chatting. The "hey" and "pst" for chat, and things like "game over" and "flag captured" etc that the game announcer shouts are not. Sometimes they work just fine, sometimes they don't. And then they can randomly call themselves later in the game. It makes things a lot harder since I only check the chat bar if I hear a sound.

Any ideas?

Ditto this. I don't know if it is a Vista thing or a threading thing (I'm on a quad core), but it *really* ruins things. I don't recall it happening under XP, but I also didn't have a Quad-core under XP.

Two Saks (OoH) has told me he's had this problem as well. He's on Vista.

I'm on XPPro on a dual-core and haven't had the problem.
