This game called Deadhold looks familiar, and that blog entry is signed by a familiar name, too.

Very much like a Myth.

Judging by the climate, poster and giant - the game will be linked to the Vikings (I think)

Model has no texture, and video on the website of the game is not much.

So the game will develop long. . .

Hey Pyro, et all!

Guilty as charged. We'll be reaching out the Myth community more comprehensively soon. Essentially Deadhold, as you've guessed, is strongly inspired by Myth, and we're starting the press bandwagon today - cause ya gotta start somewhere, and its a long road to getting eyeballs.

That said, this is the earliest of the early. Nothing you've seen is final in _any_ capacity, but what we do have is multiplayer playable already, the purpose of which was to reach a baseline myth-like gameplay using unreal4. A lot of what we're putting out to press isn't targeted to Myth people either, so a lot of what we show might be obvious or old hat to people on this forum.

Deadhold itself isn't Myth, either in story or game design, but I'm confident the final game will make the Myth community quite happy. :)

I'm more than happy to answer questions, and indeed am specifically interested in community feedback. Down the road we'll be needing some help with playtesting, balancing and general feedback on our crazy ass design ideas.

Very excited, can't wait to show you guys more in the future! :)

Deadhold has brought me back to these forums for the first time in months, and I'm very glad fisj to see you post here. My earliest memory of the Myth community was the mapmaking forum on your old vistacartel site, and I'm really happy to see you guys are still working together & that finally a myth-like game is under development, something I've longed to see happen for too many years and had all but given up on.

If there's anything I can do to help please let me know :)

Hey punkUser, vinylrake, iron!

Good to see some familiar names! Thanks for all the kind words :)

A few members have reached out to me via private message, and I thought it might be good to post my main contact email too ... ::drumroll:: ... fisj@deadhold.com

I updated the site a little bit last night also. Doug "Voice of Bob" Zartman was kind enough to allow us to post his quote about Deadhold. I'll be updating the blog probably about once a week, but I won't be spamming this forum much if I can avoid it, so keep an eye on the site itself for updates, or else email me directly and demand info ;)

Maik,

I think, while there are updates and new plugins (maps and units) this will help keep our attractive by myth. Deadhold is a copy of myth, and as copy will always be in our mind. the creators of the "deadhold" betting that Myth is an old game, so no one will comment that is plagiarism. :|

Julio...

the guys making Deadhold are from Vista Cartel, the guys that made Jinn. Then they went on to work for Mumbo Jumbo and helped make Myth III.
do it.

Also Deadhold will not be a "copy of Myth". It seems it'll have Myth-like gameplay, merged with ideas from Dota 2, but that's where the similarity will likely end. There won't be any plagiarism.
