Bug - incomplete walls in Venice

Post by Codex »

I found this bug/glitch while playing the map Venice where some parts of a wall are not being rendered. This also happened to some hilly terrain on another map. Rehosting and starting the same map again seems to fix the problem but it reoccurs if the game is killed and run again.

System information:
Myth v1.8.0 - Build 427
OpenGL 4.4
Linux-x86_64 - 3.10.27-1-MANJARO (linux310)
NVIDIA 331.38

I believe this is the same issue mentioned here:

http://tain.totalcodex.net/forum/viewto ... pth+buffer
which has already been fixed internally, but unfortunately the devs have been quite busy and not got around to releasing a maintenance fix yet.

Oooh, exciting to hear that a maintenance release should happen someday. I hope it does any of...having demo & full-app docs that stop focusing exclusively on the broken MariusNet (http://tain.totalcodex.net/forum/viewto ... 028#p66028), has a chat chime (http://tain.totalcodex.net/forum/viewto ... 101#p66101), improvements to autohost (http://tain.totalcodex.net/forum/viewto ... 118#p66118), or fixes the Mac screen resolution bug (http://tain.totalcodex.net/forum/viewto ... 931#p65946)

Great I will try the internal fix. It would also be great if the next maintenance build for Linux used the Qt framework instead of Gtk for better compatibility with Qt based desktop environments and no need to install lib32-gtk.

At this point Jason, don't hold out much hope. The way things are, there might be one more minor release ~6 months down the road maybe. That's all I see happening. (All personal opinions, no facts)
