Slower performance - I advise advice.

I am using an Intel Pentium III 790 mhz with 190 mbs of RAM. The graphics card is a 128 mb Nvidia Geforce fx 5200.
After reinstalling Myth II I noticed a nagging reduction of speed. Wight explosions are jerky and the such and panning and rotating seems less smooth than I remember it.
Any suggestions on inproving this.
I set video options to low and disabled 3d sound.
