Ever heard of a specific DVD Brand not being supported?

Post by Isolder »

Just got a new Dell in and I can't believe it. I have issues burning some discs using their Backup and Recovery.

First response from their support is "Are you using Memorex? *Note we don't support Memorex". WTF?

Never heard of that shit before. Thanks for telling me beforehand, ya know?

Hi Isolder,

Initially, I did not understand correctly what you wrote. sorry my bad english, I isn't as good a native-English speaker.
but now, I understood this :

You bought a new computer from a company called Dell. you tried to burn some discs (copy files to CDs or DVDs), but it was not working. you called the company to get help. They ask him if the brand of the discs you was using are from the company called Memorex. They told him that computer does not support discs from Memorex. So you, wants to know if anyone has ever heard about a computer not supporting a brand of discs (made by a certain company) instead of a type of discs.

I voted "no", I never heard of a company doing such a thing.
