D Day1944 Plugin fails

Hi

I have been going mad trying to get any of my Myth 2 soulblighter plugins to work in either single player or multiplayer mode.
I am running mac osx 10.7.2, Large install of Myth 2 with the 1.71 patch.I have the wwii titans, and wwii Unit 1.1 and the D Day 1944 plugins in the plugin folder and active and i get this error, can any one help. I have tried changing screen resolution, trashing the presferences, nothing seems to work. I used to play these plugins 7 or 8 years ago but i just cant get them to work now. I can seem to get any 3rd party plugins to work.

From what i read you needed the santashead wwii unit1.1, if this isnt correct which associated plugin do i need with it?

and even after loading the plugin for multiplayer i get no game modules coming up. the plugin doesnt seem to stay in the active list

In your first post you mentioned "the 1.71 patch". You are actually using 1.7.2, not that there would be a difference. In your latest post you loaded "1944 Normandy WWII 1.2", but in your original post you loaded "D-DAY 1944 HR 1.9". So your latest try was with the wrong plugin. Then after the plugin is selected hold Shift as you press OK to show any single player maps the plugin may contain.

You seem to think that plugin modifies the default units, which might not be the case at all. If you still have issues check to see what is in your local folder. The local folder is found inside your Myth II folder.

If i uses the 1944 DDay 1.9 plugin, and as you say shift and new to find single player games, the DDay Omaha Beach comes up but i get to the blue progress bar and it fails, but it does bring me back to a different main screen with different music.
I have tried a number of plugins, but i can get any to work, as was pointed out is there something i am meant to have in the local folder?

I have to update the last two posts as i have just gone back to the local folder and checked it.
It currently holds:
the following folders:
Plugins ( has the same as the main Plugins folder contents)
Preferences ( empty )
Recordings ( 3 Files: puddle of death, last recording and they're coming right at us )
Saved Games ( empty )
Tags ( 5 Files: int large, int small, large, medium and small)

Still no luck

None of those things should be inside the Local folder. They should of course be in your main Myth 2 directory folder, but the local folder should be alongside those other folders within that main directory.

You shouldn't have anything in the local folder; The reason Pyro was asking is if you DO have files in the local, they could be conflicting with tags loaded in the plugins and cause an error. If there's nothing in your local that shouldn't be a problem.

The local folder usually should be empty as Graydon stated. It can hold tags made by mapmakers when they are creating a new plugin. Sometimes mapmakers forget to take them out when they load a game and can sometimes mess things up for them. It is however okay to have certain tags like the ones that change your camera movement settings or unit formations.

If you really have all those subfolders in it, then you might have accidently installed Myth inside that folder. You can delete everything in it or even the local folder itself. Myth will create a new empty one next time you load it if you did delete it.

As for your issue, I think I see what it might be. Try this, load the single player map "Landing at White Falls" with no plugins. Does it load or does it crash?

If it crashes, find out the MD5 hashes for the files inside the "tags" folder inside your Myth II folder. I'm not sure the best way to find it, but one method is opening Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal.app). Type "md5", type a space, drag the file into the terminal window (adds file path by doing that), and press Enter. The command line returns the hash number. Do that for each of the files in the "tags" folder except for cache as it won't matter. Copy/paste the numbers/letters it gives you here.

Doh! There is the problem. You are using the demo and not the full game. Many plugins require some game files from the full game. Find your Myth 2 CD and install it. You can also find copies of the game on eBay or Amazon.
