Having trouble getting Myth II to load the actual game

Hello. I am new to this site and new to installing Myth The Fallen Lords on a modern day computer, and I am having a little bit of trouble.

My computer:

Mac Mini 2011
OS: OS X Sierra
16 GB Ram

So I have been dying to play some Myth The Fallen Lords and have such great memories from playing the game in the late nineties. So glad there is a vibrant community still around for this.

So I have installed the files from my Myth II CD and have installed all the updates up to 1.8.2 beta 2. I also have the Myth Fallen_Levels_v2 installed and I can see the option to load them in Myth II so all seems good there. The problem is when I try to launch a level, any level be it from Myth II or Myth Fallen_Levels_v2, it loads up the map gives the narration and than loops back to the Myth II main screen without ever loading the actual game itself.

I can't figure what to do. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Load up myth, try playing a level, quit, and then go to your myth folder and open your myth_log.txt. Post the contents here and it should give an indication of whats wrong.

For Mac users, the Myth2 1.8.2 beta expects you to have installed 1.8.1 before hand. So install 1.8.1 (Mac OSX) and then run the 1.8.2 beta update after that.

If that does not fix the issue, do as hmp suggested as the myth log will tell us what is wrong.

Okay guys, sorry for the delayed response, but that thing called life had gotten in the way... 8)

So I tried to start up Myth II and load into the Myth I levels, same thing happened. I get the map and the voiceover, then the animation, then it loops back to the main menu game screen.

Here is the content of the myth_log.txt file. It a bit long but here it is anyway:

You're using 1.8.1. The 1.8.2 final is now out. Do you get the same error there? Have you tried re-downloading The Fallen Levels in case there is an issue there? Is your local folder empty?

Okay finally got it! :D After a bit of fussing around with the updates trying to troubleshoot it a bit and even after installing and then reinstalling the 1.8.2 update and it still not working I decided to just reinstall from scratch. And it works! :D

What a great feeling to see the game again! Its been a good 18 years or so since I last play any Myth game. Its an absolute delight to know that a community like this exists! :D

Okay so my next question, is the old WW2 multiplayer mod still being used and played? I searched a bit on Magma, but I did not see it.
