What graphics card do you have? If you don't know the answer, do you know what brand and model computer you have or is it some custom computer? Does Myth2 load if you try Software rendering? Can you try loading OpenGL with 1.7.2 and show us a log for it?

If you don't have the executable for 1.7.2, download this zip file. Extract it and place it in your Myth 2 folder. Run it instead of the regular one and load up a map. Quit the game and show us the log for that one.

Yeah there's definitely some sort of graphics/driver issue there - potentially you're missing graphics drivers entirely. Software mode should work, but ideally figure out what sort of graphics card you have and get updated drivers for it.

Thanks for your support. It appears to work under SOFTWARE for graphics. My graphics card is Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family. I think that's my graphics card.

Try this to detect if your Intel graphics drivers are up to date. Go there and click on the "Check your system for updates" button. If there is an update for you, install it and see if Myth under OpenGL works for you.

Did you try Pyro's link or do you know that in some other way?

From the logs it doesn't look like your graphics driver is up to date, because they say Myth isn't detecting any video card at all.

From your second log, OpenGL isn't working on 1.7.2 either. Have you always played Myth in software mode? If so you could just do the same in 1.8.

I tried Pyro's 'Intel Driver Update Utility' link. It returned:
A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.
I have previously played Myth in OPEN GL mode. When I play Myth in Software mode the graphics are bad, bad, bad - but at least it doesn't crash.

I am currently shopping on eBay for a PCI-e x1 high profile 256mb video card. I think that if I install such a thing my problem will be resolved.

Ok, so that message doesn't say that the driver is already up to date, it just says that it could not be updated by the intel driver update utility because there is a custom driver present.

Before you go to replace the whole card, you could try to find an updated driver from your computer manufacturer. You could also try uninstalling the customized driver and replacing it with the generic one.

Buying a used PCI-e x1 video card is not expensive. I want to do it.

I rolled back the driver for the integrated graphics card. I thought that mb an update of the driver is the source of the problem. Rolling back the driver has not resolved this.

I want to try uninstalling the customized driver and replacing it with the generic one.

Thank you for your help and for being nice to me.
