Premature Emancipation

Post by Lord Brixton »

Just installed 1.7.2 on my Mac (2x2.66 gHz Dual-core Xeon, 7gb RAM, running 10.7.4) and thought I'd play through Soulblighter from the start for old times' sake.

1st level fine. 2nd level I get as far as busting the hostages out of the stockade (but nowhere near the end of level, not even as far as the arch) and the lavel ends. Zero casualties, but no way of moving onward to next level - choices are replay level or quit.

'this has never happened to me before'

Restarting level from scratch and restarting app have no effect.

I do have a saved game from the PPC days that still works but that's much deeper in - I was quite keen to play through from the beginning.

Any ideas?

Any idea why the game would end? Did the peasants die or did your units die before you can escort them back to the area you started the map in? Did you accidently hit Ctrl Minus? Can you save a replay/film of it as well as a copy of your myth_log and upload it so I can spot the cause?

Ctrl + (Plus) allows you to automatically win the map and move on to the next while Ctrl - (Minus) allows you to automatically lose. Currently the plus and minus have to be from the keypad keys. Laptop users will have to wait for v1.8.0 to use the other plus and minus keys.

You can also hold Shift when clicking on New Game to show all maps you can play. This way you can load up the 3rd map if all else fails, however I would still like to know why you have this issue. It is possible your foundation tag files might be corrupt and you will just run into another problem down the road.

Anything in your local folder, by chance?
The cake is a lie.
