Need a developer? - Love myth series and would like to help.

Post by Taskman »

Hello.

I'm an Italian 16 years old student. I got a good knowledge of many programming languages, including Basic in many of it's variants, C, C++, Java, Pascal, and some scripting languages like PHP, Perl, JavaScript, etc.

I loved all Bungie creations, incuding the Myth series: I played with Myth TFL since when it came out and worked with it since its tools came out. Same applies for Myth II, so I guess I know well how it's engine works.

My question is: Could I join the Myth II developers group, and help making it an even greater game?

Test Ground? :nocomment:

Maybe you don't know that I started programming at the age of 4 with my Apple //c and the "Learning Basic" floppy disk.

In the mean time, I also learned C and C++ and have been working on many freeware and shareware products and even on some commercial ones. Know "Sword Dream 3D"? My motto is: "Release High Quality, Innovative Software or Stop Working on It".

Ah, a beta tester said I could do something to support the release of an even better game, so :p .

Hehe Ach, none of the existing team are in BME so we're all n00bs by definition aren't we? :)

Taskman thanks for your offer. At the moment we have three "generalist" programmers in the team, which is pretty much enough for our current needs. We have 2 Mac specialists, an OpenGL wizard, a linux guru who's doing that port and a Windows guy (who's gone AWOL on us - come back Skarg wherever you are).

Truth is there's only so much a general-skilled programmer can do with Myth - I should know as I'm one of them. What we need are more specialists to improve how it works on Windows and perhaps to look at a port to a whole new platform.

I'm not sure if I read it right....but I'm pretty sure he said he's been playing bungie games from day one, and developed maps and such with their tools.....now I question you Acheron....how does this make him a nOOb to myth? Maybe the concept went over my head...but perhaps not knowing how to get an emperor crown on PMnet doesnt mean you know zilch :;):

Graydon, it's probably best if don't ask Acheron to explain that sort of thing. :D

yep, I agree. Its silly & pointless to take offense at it. There's been enough flaming lately - lets keep it out of this thread at least please.
