nice looking bombs, just need a related 'projectile sprite or something to make the ground look like the bomb dropped into the ground.

Reckon that'd be better achieved with a large 'decal' style dtex... You'd be hard pressed to get a collection sprite stain big enough (there's a max dimension, relatively small) to look realistic compared to the size of those bombs.

oh yeah if you can do moveable dtexs that would be awesome. i am not that familiar with how they work so with my limited mapmaking knowledge i was trying to think of a way to show rubble/crater-like effects on the ground without having to embed them as part of the colormap.

then again, the appearance of the rubble/crater detritus would vary depending on the type or terrain the bomb was sticking out of, so having one texture/sprite might not be practical anyways - might need a whole collection - one for grass, one for sand, one for water, one for rocks, one for cobblestone/street, etc.

could do it with a scenery item placed at the same location of the model... set the scenery item to detonate at start of the game and vary the results of what it leaves behind... craters debri etc...

doh. i hadn't realized the bombs were models. if you are adding them manually to the map that opens up a lot more possibilities.

never mind.
