Official 1.7 Public Beta 2 Bug Reporting Thread

Postby Myrd » Sun May 31, 2009 5:02 pm

Welcome testers!

This is the official thread for reporting any bugs you find in the Myth II 1.7 Public Beta. 2

Please make an effort to be as clear as possible in your reports. Each report should include the following information.

1. A detailed description of the bug.

2. Steps to take to demonstrate the bug, if possible. Otherwise, what were you doing when the bug happened?

3. Your OS and System specs, and which binary you are running (Classic, Modern, PPC, UB)

4. (Optionally, for game play related bugs) A film demonstrating the bug, and tell us what time it happens at.

Thank you, and happy testing!

I'm sure you know about this, I'm just here to bitch.

I use windowed mode and now with beta2 when I'm typing in an outside program, say KDX or Firefox, and I'm also in a Myth lobby at the same time then all that text I'm typing in KDX shows up in my chatbox for Myth as well.

horribly annoying

Thanks for the report. For now, a workaround you can use is to go into prefs and uncheck "Use Directinput". The scroll-wheel will still leak through, but not the keyboard.

Sit tight, I'm gonna post a hotfix soon, so you won't have to live with it for the duration of the beta.

Serious gameplay bug w/ presets.

Steps to recreate:

1. Captain a team.
2. Preset a group of units.
3. Select a few units from that group and detach to another player.
4. Now recall that preset (may have happened when I double recalled, ie. recalled then recalled again just to be sure)

The detached units are still part of that preset.

edit: actually it seems that entire presets detached are still in the preset. This should not happen.

thx for the super quick fix

Another bug: During the game when hitting "t" the screen will temporarily black out such as what happens during the on top window feature with ctrl+shift+t.

It was happening in a random game until I did the ctrl+shift+t thing then it stopped. Then it suddenly happened again minutes later. It could be because people are playing with caps lock on and when they go to type they're pressing shift+t?

Fetchball films going OOS on 1.7b2 (where the games were played. games were fine, only the films are oos). Why is this happening?

They don't go OOS for me. Are you sure you don't have something in your local?

I had a similar "typing in non-Myth window shows up in lobby chat" problem on the PPC build yesterday, but my computer in general is exhibiting final stage symptoms of a debilitating brain disorder and it only happened once (rebooting Myth solved the problem) so I'll assume it is my comp, not the build itself. Just wanted to mention it in case anyone else had the same prob.

I have the same problem with the text inputting into myth if typing in another app. I noticed taht even if I _quit_ another app while tabbed out of myth (cmd+q) the q letter shows up in myth, despite a command key being held along with it.
