Re: Myth II resolution questions
Myth II does high res really well. Should I start a new bug thread on that one topic, for the devs to notice? Or do they eventually read everything here anyway? Speaking of awesome, improved graphics, have you checked-out the HD unit conversion? http://forum.gateofstorms.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t...

Re: letter to "Take 2 Interactive"
T2I has no interest in providing support for a 15+ year old game. ...I have to think that any game released with a credit 'licensed from TakeTwo Interactive' is going to result in at least some people contacting TakeTwo if they have problems. Well, the credit could be buried in fine print (if T2I p...

Re: Myth II resolution questions
It's odd that your screen's native resolution is not available, especially since it is a fairly standard one. I just assumed that even "updated" Myth couldn't handle high res. Will it on Windows, Mac desktops, etc? Should I start a new bug thread on that one topic, for the devs to notice?...

Re: Thinking about a Laptop...
And I can't use a mac as my gaming laptop because of the geometry of the keyboard layout. Only Toshiba and Dell make ones that would be compatible for what I need. Get whatever Mac or Windows laptop fits your price and power needs, then buy a desktop USB keyboard and plug it in? I assume this would...

Tain missing some Read me files
I wanted to see all major changes made to Myth since I last played (late 90's?). I found the "Older Updates" page, however, some Myth versions aren't on that page (like nothing before 1.3.2, which doesn't even offer a Readme), and some Readme's are missing (like 1.5.1 tells you what 1.5.1 ...

Re: Myth II resolution questions
If you really want to make Myth2 look it's best be sure you download JonGod's encyclopedic texture pack. Oh, yeah, got that right off, it's great! >"you probably know from reading the update notes..." LOL, no, I didn't, that's a lot of detail to read...many updates! Thanks for the tip! It...

Myth II resolution questions
I'm a returnee to Myth...I've never forgotten the fond days of being a HEAVY participant at The Myth Codex & other sites, & playing Myth I & II (IMO 1 of the 3 best action-oriented games of all time...along with Robotron, & PS3 Warhawk). I installed 1.8 from CD, playing on a 15"...

Re: letter to "Take 2 Interactive"
$10K would buy a lot of lawyer time. id has released a bunch of games under GPL. It doesn't seem like it should cost $10K to get a licensing agreement done. We WOULD be paying for T2I's time to write the agreement. LOL, can we find a Myth fan lawyer to offer a boiler-plate license agreement for T2I'...

Re: letter to "Take 2 Interactive"
But to get the legal stuff sorted would require a bunch of money to begin with so that died pretty quickly. Was the "bunch of money" the "six figures" amount I've heard, or was that 6 figures for actually buying the rights? Because if the money required for legal stuff was like ...

Re: letter to "Take 2 Interactive"
People seem to feel entitled to support/fixes/features even when they get something for free, expectations are even higher when they pay for something. Debate is welcome :) People can expect what they like, doesn't mean PM has to deliver it. If I, personally, make an indie shareware game, and it's ...

Re: letter to "Take 2 Interactive"
Someone from PM? Sadly, if T2I is as mercenary as people are saying, the licensing fee probably would have to cover T2I's legal costs.paladin MAIK wrote:Okay, and who then decides to negotiate with Take2 ?

Re: letter to "Take 2 Interactive"
Here's my thought to setup a win-win, attainable scenario for PM & T2I. What if we can convince T2I to license (not sell) the rights, so PM can make a FULL digital M2 game (copy the CD files, & use PM's installers/updaters) that is sold through some site, or Steam, or GOG.com, or on thetain ...
