Map design considerations
Has anyone written-up thoughts/philosophy about considerations in map design? i.e.--considering symmetry vs asymmetry, defensibility of home/mid/other flags, use of water, etc.

Tain intermittently inaccessible
Are you guys aware, several times today the Tain/forums have become completely inaccessible. The site just won't come up. Uh, I forget the error message. I'll get it next time.

Make it, I won't stop you! You'll need the balanced units anyway, so possibly release them as a tagset while making new maps?Jon God wrote:I think a map to go with it would attract more people. New content is always more enticing, specially for a community that is drooling for new content.

Re: A tagset to attract new gamers?
Even if all we had is a balanced tagset to play regular game types on regular maps, that would be a start. And maybe attract volunteers to help with more ambitious Star Wars TCs (like yours). Also playing on the Marathon, Jinn, etc maps for more sci-fi feel.

A tagset to attract new gamers?
I was thinking...Star Wars fans (I'm one) are pretty fanatical, and under-served by the videogame industry. I wonder if we had better Star Wars options if we'd pull in a new community. I've played around with the 3 Star Wars plugins, but there isn't a tagset, and like most rifle-based setups, the ga...

Re: myth 2 1.8 random kernel panics on osx 10.7.5
Perhaps Myth is using something in OpenGL that is using some aspect of your hardware that your other games are not...and that part of your hardware is failing. If you switch to software render, does the problem go away permanently? It sounds like your system is an older one, perhaps you can get an e...

Re: Bug - incomplete walls in Venice
has already been fixed internally, but unfortunately the devs have been quite busy and not got around to releasing a maintenance fix yet. Oooh, exciting to hear that a maintenance release should happen someday. I hope it does any of...having demo & full-app docs that stop focusing exclusively o...

Are the other OpenGL games newer ones, older ones, or a mix?

Has Myth always given you trouble on this laptop? If not, have you changed anything, software updates?Vorig wrote:Yep. Using OpenGL.

No real idea, but I'll ask questions anyway...your Myth is using OpenGL? Are your other games as well?

Well at least you have the TFL map pack and "TFL Gameplay" mode in MII. Not good enough?Jon God wrote:if you wanted to play Myth 1 and 3.

You can't even register for their forums (no confirmation email ever comes), nor email Admins@mariusnet.com (bounces as unreachable). Though it seems if you're already registered, you can still post.

Re: Feature requests: Autohost: Pause, playlist size, & info
TBH I think it's pretty unlikely that significant work is going to be done on autohost at this point. Well, they're mostly pretty simple changes, but whatever, I know all requests are just "maybes". A metaserver will help, but be of less use for anyone not close enough to the West Coast. ...
