Re: Feature requests: Autohost: Pause, playlist size, & info
TBH I think it's pretty unlikely that significant work is going to be done on autohost at this point. It's sort of a hacky implementation to start with. Ideally metaserver proxying (i.e. "anyone can host") should mitigate the need for it to a large extent and for the remaining use cases we...

Re: Demo makes weird room lobby decision?
I'm pretty sure it just tries to join the last room you were in, otherwise it picks the first room with space. People hang out in the 'second' room in GoS since it saves films. We could swap this next time the metaserver is rebooted to accomodate people who join and don't know how to switch rooms I ...

Re: back to Myth
Do you have the tags files that jason mentioned? If you do, you should be able to "patch" the game to 1.8 on either Mac or Windows and get a working installation. You absolutely will need to patch to the latest version to run it on a modern OS, so don't despair if 1.3 isn't working

I mean the docs are server agnostic.jason_ac wrote: Really? What did I miss? I don't see gateofstorms in the 1.8 readme, nor in the "Myth II Help.pdf"

Re: Myth needs...voice chat!
I'm concerned about the community relying on 1 person to always keep a server up...unless the GoS or MariusNet people are volunteering to be that server. But whatever, just be nice to see people start using something. I set my Skype up :) If there was enough need I imagine GoS or PM could put up a ...

Re: The demo, & MariusNet
Ideally... there's a link on the demo web site to the GoS FAQ, but at this point it might be worth making it the default. Just a question of when we do another release.

Re: Myth needs...voice chat!
Yeah Mumble is probably the best candidate (cross-platform, low latency, etc) and NewMutator had a server up for a while (maybe he still does). Alternatively, Skype is ok in a pinch if you don't have a server, but I'm not sure if there's Linux support?

Re: Myth II resolution questions
It's odd that your screen's native resolution is not available, especially since it is a fairly standard one. Unfortunately we'll need one of the devs who is more familiar with the OSX screen code to help debug that one. Obviously having it native res would be ideal.

Perhaps silly question, but are you sure the exact versions that were being played in the game you were trying to join are on the tain?

Re: Can't alt-tab during offline gameplay.
As Pyro says, there has to be another active window (like a browser or something). In any case, if you're planning to actively do something in another window, pressing alt-enter to put myth into a regular window first makes the most sense. No other game handles this any differently as it's an OS thi...

Re: Greetings
As Graydon and JG are saying, while those sorts of statistics are of use in games with relatively simpler combat models (i.e. most RTS), they simply don't determine much in Myth, so having them be displayed in the UI would be misleading at best. While in "1v1" unit scenarios you can usuall...

Re: Another tiresome offer ...
It's an interesting way to bypass the issue of the rights to the Myth story/franchise itself, sort of similar to what Green Berets did. The part that I'm not completely clear on though is whether the PM devs could be involved in such a thing at all. We've had discussions in the past about just writi...
