Re: gate of storms down?
Yeah I got a message that the datacenter that it runs on is being targeted by a DoS attack so they've shut down incoming access for a few hours. I'll take a look again when I get home today and hopefully stuff is sorted out by then. Sorry for the inconvenience, but there's not much I can do for the ...

Re: Hosting Via Android 4.3 as Mobile Hotspot
Will this be an option for hosts? So if they have their own portforwarding setup and ready they can have lower latency by doing it the old fashioned way? Yeah it'll likely be an option and/or the metaserver will detect when a host is unreachable and automatically switch to proxying connections. Def...

Re: Hosting Via Android 4.3 as Mobile Hotspot
Mobile hotspots almost always end up sharing IPs/doing NAT at an ISP level. Even if you resolve any port forwarding on the hotspot device itself, there's still sharing going on at a higher level. Short story... you're not going to be able to host Myth on that as it currently stands. There's some ong...

Drunken (kingthrall) has a weekly coop night on GoS (see the blue bar) - why don't you show up for that maybe?capital wrote: I am getting the feeling coop players have picked up and moved or are they sleeping with MariusNET? Not in the biblical sense.

Re: [Upcoming] Phantom Hounds: Haunted Heart
Yeah no one plays Myth for the graphics ;) If you don't notice, all the power to you, but it's worth noting that on most machines the hardware accelerated modes (GL/DX) are actually faster/less stressful on the system compared to Software as well. And even if you don't use dtex or anything, it's a b...

Re: New Windows 8 Crash?
Not OS related, despite Godz trolling. BIOS beeps indicate some sort of hardware problem during POST usually. If it was one long beep you should check in your motherboard manual if that is a specific indicator for any kind of error. Coming out of sleep (sounds more like it was coming out of hibernat...

Re: Myth crashes when i use an specific Item
Ah, the old bad data in a plugin case ;) I guess GL guards against that or something. Hopefully it's not too deep in the logic... would suck to add another branch deep in the rendering code (maybe we could pre-validate plugins or something instead). Anyways thanks for posting, I'll take a look and g...

Re: Myth crashes when i use an specific Item
That looks like it might be a DX11 bug which is code that I've worked on. Alternatively it might be a graphics driver bug, hard to tell. Can you please send me a link to the plugin and ideally a film that causes the crash (maybe taken from another one of the machines in the game or just the Last Rec...

Re: Myth is dead ?? poll voting
http://www.gateofstorms.net/tournaments/RS1 is currently a reasonable approximation to how many active folks there are that play MP myth (i.e. doesn't include folks who only play coop). While some of these could certainly be dummies, there is actually no motivation to dummy in the current system (an...

Re: [Poll] Raising the Limit on Active Units
Punk, by "creativity" I was referring to older patches bursting at the seams with new & sometimes extraordinary mapmaker features Ah, mapmaking in particular. I guess while I agree that supporting mapmaking is one of the main goals of the patches, there's obviously deminishing returns...

Re: [Poll] Raising the Limit on Active Units
CP also mentioned the latest patches lacking creativity, and to me that's down to the mapmakers in PM (including me) leaving Myth. Plugins have always been the place to do "creative" stuff. Client patches are to add technical features, fix bugs, etc. Note that the addition of a new game m...

Re: Feature requests: Autohost: Pause, playlist size, & info
[A metaserver will help, but be of less use for anyone not close enough to the West Coast. Heh, unless you can get a few people to host metaservers around the world and you make a distributed architecture functional. The plan is to support multiple proxies around the world as needed. Of course that...

In theory, yes, but I'm not sure anyone has tried it recently.
