Re: Myth III on OS X?

The fully patched Myth III for OS X worked best on a G4, it even had some hand written optimizations for Altivec courtesy of beckyburger IIRC. If you want to try it on a Mac, I suggest a top of the line Aluminum PowerBook G4. Anything made sooner than that is going to be a bit rough. There was a ver...

Re: No cutscenes

None of the QuickTime frameworks exist anymore in Catalina. That's the old API that's missing, sadly.

Catalina uses AVFoundation, a movie player framework that came from the iPhone that has its own quirks. It will probably need a bit of work to have that running where QuickTime was very capable.

I don't think the demo ever worked with mods or plugins, though it's been awhile since I've stormed Myth II's keep or ascended the cliffs of Myth TFL's Bagrada.

You'll have to find a CD-ROM or CD image of Myth II (Soulblighter or Worlds) to experience that fun.

Re: Soulblighter crashes @ game start/MacOS Catalina

I believe this only happens if you have cutscenes enabled, or any cutscenes in your Myth II folder. The problem is that QuickTime is no longer part of Mac OS X in Catalina. Any attempt made to call the QuickTime frameworks in an app will leave you with, rrreeeeooooowwww, ker-splat. As you see with M...

Re: Deadhold - early access on 26th August

I recognize a fair number of Vista Cartel (Jinn, Fetchball, so many mod tools). Replaying it, Jinn is probably my favorite Myth II mod.

PM's Jon God is there, too!
