Re: Never mind, ignore this, delete it
I don't have the Myth II interface screen in front of me, but could you remap the volume keys to something you don't already have mapped to something else? Or if the FKeys aren't mappable, couldn't you just disable the conflicting volume key mappings in your OS's system prefs/control panel? Luckily...

When autohost chats, sometimes it hotkeys the interface?
When I'm autohosting, sometimes if I chat in the game lobby with the players, my keystrokes trigger the interface buttons. If I type the letter o, I might trigger "Options". If I type an s, I might Start the game :P I can't figure out why it starts doing this, or what makes it stop. Someti...

Re: Feature request: sound alert
I'd really like this too.
It would be enough if there was an option that Myth makes a sound every time anyone posts a chat message in the room lobby or game lobby.
Or to be fancy, give us options...alert in room lobby, alert in game lobby, or alert only on private messages.

Re: Myth needs...voice chat!
Omi thinks too many Myth-ers won't use Skype because it's Microsoft's. If that's true, and we give up the idea of Linux usage, AIM & Yahoo Msgr are widely-used alternatives.

Re: Autohost volume control?
LOL, duh, I forgot about the F keys. Although several I've tried to use already don't work so well, because my laptop already has other functions mapped onto them, and even when I use the <fn> modifier key, Myth doesn't do the right thing.

When you resize overhead map, unit dots stay tiny
When you resize the overhead map, the unit dots don't scale up, they stay tiny. Since I re-size sometimes to see better, I wish they scaled-up along with the overhead map.

MII chat throws away text if you type more than 60 chars?
It looks like when you're chatting, if you type more than 60 characters, the rest is just thrown away and never displayed. Is this a known bug?

Re: Myth needs...voice chat!
I downloaded Skype, played with it, you can make group calls http://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10809/making-a-group-call-mac Looks suitable. The host just needs to add any new players to the group call as they join the game. If anyone wants to help test Skype group calls, let me know. Add jasonmh9 a...

Any autohosting requests?
I can autohost (on gateofstorms obviously), any requests? Whatever is asked for the most often is likely what I will autohost. Or if there are popular conflicting requests, maybe I'll rotate the autohost. I often check the chat between games. (if you don't know how an autohost works, read http://myt...

Well, Skype fulfills all that. Don't know if anything would be better.vinylrake wrote:just a matter of finding a free cross-platform one that will run on fairly old computers.

Re: Myth needs...voice chat!
people could just as easily use something like Google Hangouts (or G+ or whatever it's called these days). It is cross platform, free and from what I've heard would work fine for the number of people in a Myth game. Maybe Google HO would work. Though won't it require a browser that handles fairly m...

Re: Myth needs...voice chat!
While the idea of it being a solution for EVERYONE is a good goal, and we should get as close to it as we can, I don't think it should be that no one voice chats unless ALL can do it. Heck, on console gaming, not everyone has a headset...those that do, still voice chat. We all keep trying to get new...

Re: Offering free voice acting to map makers
I'll wait until someone's actually casting. Developing characters/voices, & making good recordings, takes time. I'm busy, & this is free. Perhaps no one is ever casting. Or not for another 6 months, and maybe I'm too busy to act then. Either way, I wasted time on the demo. And "generic ...
